EnWave Corporation (ENW.V) – shareholder update

ENW.V stock has seen a lot of volatility over the past several years, the company achieving great success in certain areas of its business at various times. Finally, it looks like all business units are on the cusp of achieving solid results at the same time. We have liked the company for years, understanding the potential their vacuum-microwave drying technology offering brings to the food, pharmaceutical, and cannabis industries.

On March 18, 2020 we wrote about finding investing opportunities during a pandemic, mentioning ENW.V as a great developing story in the food, pharmaceutical, and cannabis industries. As we said at the time, the advantages of their proprietary vacuum microwave drying technology are numerous. On that date, ENW.V stock closed at $0.58 (the $0.56 52-week low, both then and now, was touched the prior day, March 17, 2020).

Finding investing opportunities during a pandemic

Themoneynarrative’s view (March 18, 2020) is that we haven’t yet hit the bottom of the severe coronavirus (COVID-19)/petroleum sector shock market correction.  While it isn’t yet time to be putting money into the markets, now is certainly the time to be thinking about strategy and opportunities when the timing is right.

Cannabis earnings don’t match investors’ high expectations

Last week, in the latest of disappointing financials from a Canadian cannabis grower, industry leader Canopy Growth Corporation (WEED.TO) posted annual numbers that recorded a whopping $670 million loss, up from a $54 million loss the prior year.

ENW.V CEO Brent Charleton and CFO Dan Henriques presented recently in various locales, including Montreal on May 15, 2019. Q2 2019 Financial Results will be announced on May 28, 2019.  Themoneynarrative expects Q2 to be better, but real progress should be evident in the numbers in the third and fourth quarters.
